Summer is here!

Finally, the trees have finished blooming and Dave's allergies have calmed down. He went for allergy testing and got poked with lots of needles. They sent him home with a paper of common allergens, and they highlighted the one's that he tested positive for. Pretty much the whole paper was highlighted! It's kind of crazy considering he didn't have problems with allergies in the past. But now that his allergies have calmed down, we can sleep with the windows open again. He will begin his allergy shots and hopefully by the time Spring comes back around, he'll be fine.

We've been trying to have a tag sale, but the weather just doesn't want to cooperate with us. The next few weekends are going to be very busy, so now we have to put it off until sometime in July.

Now that our shutters are beautiful maroon, I decided to repaint the plaque on the house to match.
I just need to spray some sealer on it before we put it back up.

I wanted to plant some herbs and veggies but didn't feel like digging up a space for a garden. So for this summer, we will be doing some simple "deck" gardening. Maybe next summer I will do a real garden. We have dill:

Cherry tomatoes:

Mixed salad greens:

Basil (which doesn't seem to be growing) and spearmint:

And some green beans that are just starting to sprout:

We also have some bees taking up residence under the rail of the deck. Dave will be evicting them soon.

In the spring I planted some canna bulbs from my dad. They all popped up and are getting bigger each day.
They will grow to be a few feet tall with those pretty maroonish leaves and some red flowers on top.

Dave has been getting the red truck ready to sell.

Why is he selling it? Because he bought this beast!

So there hasn't been too much going on here. But we have lots of fun events to look forward to this summer and fall.
